A little light in the tunnel

Today is the first day of fall and September is moving at the speed of light.
I don't know where the last week has gone.
Audrey is top priority these days and only yesterday, after days of worry, I saw her health take a turn for the better. She is now finished with antibiotics and seems not to need the meticam for the last two days. She is eating well; more with gusto, and is once again moving around the mouse-house. But, she still walks in circles; moving constantly to the right. You can imagine how frustrating this is for her; and so tiring. It tears me apart.
Because of this I am carrying her around much of the day and keeping her beside me by brushing her gently with her favorite brush.
Her next appt. will tell us if the infection is completely gone. We then have to discuss what to do about the polyp in her ear canal. Until it is removed the vet does not expect to see an improvement in her movement. This is far from over, even though I thank God and You for all your good thoughts and prayers, and I am so thankful that she is feeling better.
She joined her mom in a sun-puddle today.

Still loves her hidey-hole.

The house-building carries on. The house is wrapped in insulation and the roof-trusses arrived today.
It will soon look like a real house.

David has been by to check on the construction, being a guy and all.

Look at that mug. lol
He is just here for a belly-rub, shameless fella that he is, and it is always fun to have him drop by. I never let him near the old pump where Simon lives. He's a Mighty Hunter, as you know.

Our garden won't quit.
No one visits the mouse-house and goes home empty-handed.

My web cam has revealed our mystery visitors; three very big and very healthy-looking raccoons.
I'm pretty sure it is the mom and two babes that started coming for food last winter. By the looks of them they should do well this coming winter with the extra weight they have on their chubby bodies.
No cat.

Have a good weekend, everyone.
Please keep Audrey in your thoughts and prayers.
hugs, Deb

  1. I hope Audrey continues to improve. That's a wonderful shot of daughter and mom!

  2. Glad to hear Audrey is improving. Lovely photo of her and Annie.
    Have a good weekend.

  3. I can't imagine how hard this has been with Audrey and her illness. We love our fur babies so much. I am so glad she is doing a bit better and I'm keeping her and you in my thoughts and prayers. The new house is making great progress!

  4. That is very good news to read about Audrey. I am so grateful and happy that she appears to be making improvements in several areas and being more herself. You must be feeling such relief, even knowing that this isn't over yet. I am just so happy and relieved myself.

I love the care you have been giving her. She must know she is loved beyond measure.

I will continue to lift little AA to our Lord asking for his healing for her.

    Thanks, Deb, for the update.

    Love and hugs to all,

  5. Hi Deb,
One of my cats had to have a polyp removed from her ear canal and now she is completely healed. I hope the same goes for your Audacious Audrey. It was quite scary and I was so relieved when it was over! Sending healing prayers your way.

  6. I really pray that Ms Audrey gets to feeling better real soon. How we love our pets. Take care of yourself.

  7. I'm glad Audrey is feeling better. It's good to see her out. She is such a sweetie pie. I know it worries you. I love the picture of Annie and Audrey. And that David. He sure looks like a mighty hunter.

  8. Audrey is indeed in my prayers as are you and Annie and all who love her. I'm so glad there is some improvement and I'm hoping you can deal with the polyp soon enough. Meanwhile, you are being a good cat mom and taking such wonderful care of her. I know that has to mean the world to her.

Good news on the house! But better news for Audrey.

  9. I was thinking of Audrey today and hoping there would be news of an improvement. What a scary time. It is heart-wrenching to see an animal in pain or confusion--we do our best to love and comfort them. I hope the polyp can be safely removed.

  10. That is a precious picture of Audrey and Annie! The house is looking great and going fast! Audrey remains in my prayers. I am hoping her infection will be gone and the vet can deal with the polyp and all of this can be behind you.

  11. so glad to hear that Audrey is a little better, eating is always a good sign.
have her & you in my thoughts through out the days hoping that she gets well.

    fine day...! :).

The house is coming along nicely..once
again Deb..don't forget the roof! HeHe!
    I've always wanted a 'pink' house, don't
think that'll happen now! Never mind, l've
enough pink in my life! :0).

  14. I hope the ear surgery is soon and very successful.
    The house looks great!

  15. So sorry to hear about Audrey's problems. I hope removing the polyp will do the job for her.

  16. This is better news....Audrey is healing's all in the right direction but still concerns remaian. She is in my prayers are a good Mother Deb...she's a lucky girl and I am right there with you..warm hugs

  17. So glad to read that Audrey is doing better. I pray that the polyp will soon be a thing of the past, and she will be back to her old normal, wonderful self.

Your house is coming right along. I loved seeing David being such a huge help to you. He is a handsome kitty.

Love, hugs and prayers for you and for Miss Audrey ~ FlowerLady

  18. So thankful that Audrey seems to be feeling better. I hope the polyp can be removed so she can get back to being her normal audacious self. Will continue to pray for the sweet little fur person.

  19. Such good news - any improvement is cause for celebration. My Slimbo had vertigo two years ago - it was terrifying. He recovered, but still has a slight head tilt. Will be keeping Audrey in my thoughts.

  20. Praise and thanks for Audrey's health improvement! This is very good news indeed, It's the first step and it's a step that's in the right direction. We'll be keeping her in our prayers . Kiss her for us, please.

  21. So glad to read that Audrey is feeling better. Prayers continue that the issue with the polyp will be successfully resolved. Beautiful photos of the cats. Hugs.

  22. Awww little Audrey we want you to keep getting better.

    Julie and poppyq

  23. Hope all goes well for Audrey and she gets back to her old self soon . Looks like the house is coming along fast and well that's great . Wonderful haul your getting from your gardens just hope the raccoons don't steal to much from it . Thanks for sharing , have a good weekend !

  24. Here's hoping that next vet appointment gives you some good news, like a date for ear polyp removal surgery! David is shameless, but can you blame his gorgeousness?

  25. We'll certainly be keeping Audrey in our thoughts and prayers as well.

  26. Thinking of Audrey constantly and hoping all will improve even more soon.
Your house is really coming along Deb, going to be fabulous.

    Mary x

  27. It must indeed be frustrating for Audrey; I find it frustrating when I can't explain to my poor cats when there is something wrong with them. But things are improving, and will continue to do so. The best of luck to Audrey.

  28. Glad to hear that Audrey is showing some improvement!

  29. Sun Puddle, I love that. You're house is really looking GREAT! Maybe you'll be in before Christmas? Simon is just darling, he would not stand a chance here, as my cat Claudette is a notorious chipmunk hunter!

  30. Glad to hear that Audrey is feeling a bit better. When our fur-babies are not feeling good, it is hard on us, too. It must be stressful worrying about her while your house is going up, but exciting, too. It looks wonderful! I love raccoons, but they do decimate a bird feeder at night! xx K

  31. Back again to leave love, hope and more prayers for Audrey. I hope she has continued to be better.
