A gathering

It wasn't hard to find the sunniest spot in our house yesterday. You can imagine how good it feels on all these old bones. Their ages are 18, 16, 8 & 22. They were so happy they broke out into song. Right now, it is dark but we are told to expect +10 today and I'll take that with a grin.
Above is (top left)  Cali, Lily, Sierra and Mr. Ed. Ginny always sleeps behind my computer. She is still doing ok. Eating, using her box, walking around, waking me up too early...oh my gosh...I'm talking 5 am. She's worse than the Spring birds for that.
The picture shown behind the cats is of my mom when she was in her 20's. She is holding a kitten that belonged to my grandmother. Not hard to see where I got this love for cats.

Cat-tip-for-the-day=^..^=A good time to groom
The best time to groom your cat is when the cat is comfortable and stretched out in a resting postition. I find if I 'go to the cat' instead of bringing the cat to a certain area for grooming the grooming session goes much better. Have your tools in an area that is easy to grab and take these opportunities like when they are stretched out enjoying the sun and make that a positive time between you and kitty where you can comb and brush and check all over for any abnormalities such as lumps or red spots. Take your time and you will both find this a pleasurable experience.
Hugs, Deb

  1. I'm thinking curled up on that couch with all those sweet kitties would be a good place to be! :)

  2. HA! Too funny...probably did stick his tongue out at poor Kane! It was SEVENTY here in Mich yesterday...a near record for St Patty's Day...but short lived I am afraid...and Rosie sat in EVERY window sill since they were opened. She hunted birds from inside the screen door in the kitchen all day too:D! I LOVE that pic of your Mom and the kitty..very nice!

  3. We're totally in love with elderly kitties. Our oldest was 22.5, and was adopted by us when he was 21. Old kitties rule.

  4. Loving the sun on my old bones also! I love to brush Charlie when he is relaxed, good tip!

  5. I think I am just like a cat...I love the sit or lay in the sun and I love to be groomed there too! LOL

  6. Dear Deb,
They don't look like senior at all ! I guess " sun worshippers" might make them look so young : )

  7. Wow - they are senior and you'd never know it. They either have good genes, or it's your tender loving care.
