Awesome Muffins. :-))

How to make tea-time 'Awesome'
These are so good I have to share the recipe.

I made them last week and they were delish.
So, after a successful, but gut-wrenching morning of clothes shopping, I made them again. I like to reward myself after hours in an overly-bright, teeny-tiny fitting room remembering the days when anything looked great and I didn't wonder who the heck that was in the mirror. And that mirror, and that mirror...Oh Gawd! You say to yourself, "I wonder if I look different in the one next door?"  I didn't.
Oh ya, the good 'ol days. But, I came home with a few new articles so I'm happy...and hungry.

So here's the recipe.
                                            BANANA BREAD Muffins
You need...

1/2 cup butter
1 c sugar
2 eggs
3 med over-ripe bananas
1 3/4 c of flour
1 tsp soda
1/2 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
1 cup of walnuts
Cream butter & sugar together.
Beat in eggs.
Add mashed bananas
In a separate bowl, mix flour, soda, powder & salt.
Add nuts
Add this to banana mixture.
Place in a greased (or parchment paper) 9x5x3 inch pan
Or for muffins place in muffin tins.

I add a bit of brown sugar to the top of loaf or muffins just for that added taste.
Muffins...bake 25 minutes at 350
Loaf...bake 1 hour at 350

Hope you enjoy them.

"Do any of you beans see the irony here?"
"That's enough, Audrey."
=^..^=

If you drop by the mouse-house without notice you will be served tea and a muffin but you can expect to walk over 500 cat toys; most likely trip on a cat-nip saucer track or get your toes caught in one of the many cat mats. Ya, this place is a real 'house beautiful'; right out of a magazine, but the felines are happy. :-b

I guess it's time to vacuum again.

These muffins are wonderful with that first cup of coffee in the morning.
The snow is falling (again), the temperature is rising
and there is hope of seeing the sun.
Enjoy your Sunday, everyone.

hugs, Deb

  2. Sorry Audrey!x But!I have to disagree..!
I would gladly walk over 500 cat toys for
    a banana muffin...Treading carefully, not
    to break any! :).
For me..it would be a 'hell' of a walk to!
And..Get my feet wet..!!! The Atlantic ocean
is quite wide you know!!! :>).

  3. The muffins look delicious. I do know all about the kitty toys. My house looks like toddler central...toys everywhere, things to climb on ... and I don't have a mouse house. I figure if visitors don't like it they don't have to visit. My house is home to me and my fur-kids and they are happy (so am I)! It's an adventure!
    Purrs and hugs....

  5. Our game is toy toss. As soon as I pick up Lizzie's basket of toys she is in full hunch alert. So, she knows two things -- what the toy basket is and the word "birds!" She's no rocket scientist but awfully cute.

Meanwhile, Audrey is looking quite circumspect! Interesting to look at her baby pix (2 mo, as a little newborn) on the right. She still has the look!

  7. Funny how clothes shopping loses its appeal as we get older ;)
Audrey is lucky, her "clothing" is always purrfect.
The recipe is great, thanks for sharing!
Worth going over 500 cat toys to get it too.

  8. Ha Ha - muffins warm fresh out of the oven, ah life is good isn't it. In our house the primary rule is not to do anything to scare the cats or upset them. Toy pick up before vacuuming usually is met with glares & pacing. It's my reason for not vacuuming too often - I'm just following the prime directive.

  10. Nothing more comforting than a homemade muffin and a cup of tea. Preferably with a cat on your lap!!
Yes, trying on clothes ain't what it used to be.

  11. Walking over a hundred cat toys seems a small price to pay to sample one of those yummy looking muffins!
I hear you about dressing rooms =)

  13. What irony, AA? It isn’t like wholesome, homemade, happy muffins could have anything to do with what is happening universally with mirrors these days. I think there is a conspiracy and that all the mirrors in stores are being replaced with those old funhouse mirrors that make a person look a foot shorter and a foot wider! I’m sure of it!

So glad you found some new duds, Deb. I bet they look great!

    Love,
    Lily

  16. Your house sounds perfect to me! I'd feel right at home. The only difference is you'd have to walk over dog toys at my house. Oh, and I only live in one room, not an entire house. That will be remedied soon! I hate those mirrors in dressing rooms!!! I started my diet again...today....for the umpteenth time this year! The muffins and fruit look delish. My favorite kind of breakfast!
