Are you still having fun?

As beautiful as it looks, the driving was quite difficult on back roads. It doesn't help that cat-sitting starts long before the ploughs are done.

Take a peek out the back window of one of my client's homes.  It is gorgeous with the snow on the trees and the cats are having a wonderful time watching the very active birds at the feeders.  I am getting some fantastic 'cat in window' opportunities lately.
I'm keeping the feeders filled mostly to keep this gal occupied.

It was a hectic time out there yesterday driving the back roads but you just have to be careful and take your time.

Audrey has a surprise in store today. She doesn't know it yet but her sister is coming for 4 days.   They will have a blast and we will batten down the hatches and the tree.  Audrey has shown interest in the tree but never tried to climb it, if you can imagine that. I'm hoping Ruby will follow suit. This will be AA's best present ever. Hugo's comin' too; packing his suitcase of insulin. Geesh, what's 2 more. "HOHOHO"

Are you still having fun? I hope so. We are counting down the days.

Today is another busy one. 6:50....start warming up the car.

hugs, Deb

  1. It looks beautiful-but so not fun to drive in!
    Stay safe and warm.

  2. Oh Deb you are the best cat sitter ever! Take care of all those lovely kitties and then come home to your own and a few 'Grand' kitties. Stay warm.
    hugs, Linda

  3. I would be staying in and enjoying a warm house. Love your cute kitty, Audrey will enjoy having visitors. Stay safe and have a happy weekend!

  4. Sounds like a perfect house full Deb!

  5. This reminds me so very much of living in Maine...poor Mae only has a bird to look at rather than all the woodland animals in the's lovely to look at but rather difficult when you're out and about....wishing you a Very Merry Christmas Deb...kiss all the kitty cats!

  6. Merry Christmas to you & your Family of furry friends!

  7. Our year old cat has left the little tree alone. Last year she had tons of fun climbing the big tree. I wasn't amused.

May I ask what you feed your cats that they are so long lived? I've never heard of a Siamese living so long. I thought they were a bit delicate.

    1. Mostly soft food. It is less fattening and more moisture. I always give them two different kinds. Natural Balance and a cheaper one like fancy feast. I give them mostly the holistic type. I used to feed them Eagle Pack chicken and rice and they did well except they got tired of it. Dry food is given out daily but in small amounts. Mostly as a treat. I also give them a plate of cooked salmon, chicken or beef to share at dinner time. They are spoiled, I know.

    2. That's basically what we feed our cats. When my Max was sick with kidney issues (turns out it was cancer and he had to be put to sleep), I read tons of info on what to feed him. It was very depressing. Sometimes the internet can be helpful and sometimes not. Merry Christmas!

  8. That is great that Audrey's Ruby-Doo is coming! I have wondered when they would have their next time of play together! (Best wishes for the tree!)
Yes, do take it slow and careful on those back roads. We get lots of snow sometimes and it can be such a chanllenge! Be safe!

  9. looks white and lovely, but know what you mean about getting around. It has been delightful visiting you throughout this year. Thank you for your visits and for the time you took to leave us comments here too. We look forward very much to more time shared in 2013! and here is wishing it to be a peaceful, healthy and happy new year. Love Darcy, Bingley and Helen xxx

  10. Hi Deb: I can tell you are not in the least bit worried that company is coming! Cats and kids, what could be more special to you?..Hope you have a grand time with all and Merry Christmas to you and your family..Judy

  11. Deb, I bet all your clients cats are glad of a visit. I guess they must sleep all snuggled up most of the snowy wintery days.

Good on you for taking on the visitors.

Merry Christmas to you and all of your sweet family.

  12. I wonder if Audrey will still be attached to her sister. I'm glad you told us what you feed your cats. Mine get a mix of dry and wet but I think I'll switch the ratio to the same as you. They'll be happy. They eat the dry as a last resort anyway. Mine do get some table scraps which always horrifies people. As my mom used to say, "What do you think we fed pets before there was pet food?".

    1. What we eat is 'real' food. It only makes sense to me.

  13. We can feel the kitty in the window's excitement! Just look at that pose. Bet the birds are happy too.

Ruby and audrey and Annie back together. Wonder if Ruby will remember.....
And Hugo! I just love him. What a great family Christmas for all.
