For some reason, my last post vanished on me. Weird.
I expect she will milk this for all it's worth. I hope I survive.
"Must go...I just heard her bell ring. "
Audrey fell from our stair cover to a stair-step below injuring her back leg and tail on the weekend. Normally she could have jumped the distance but her fall was unexpected and she went down hard. Her tail going limp really alarmed me.
It was off to the vet to see how bad the injury was and thankfully (Oh lordy, I was worried) she just needs rest; no broken bones. Her tail is swollen and sore but there is no spinal damage.
The little twerp is not allowed to jump as she recovers, with the help of a good pain-killer, so I am lifting her when the need arises. Did I ever mention that she loves to jump....constantly. :(
We'll have to change the stair cover so this does not happen again.

Poor Audrey! I wondered when the previous post wasn't showing. You'll just have to spoil her rotten to keep her happy.ReplyDelete
More so than usual.
Oh, Deb, I feel your pain. I have a jumper too! Her newest trick is to waltz across our mantel before jumping clear of the hearth! Kimberly may not kill me but she definitely is turning me gray...ReplyDelete
I am glad she is OK. Oh my, that is scary! Yes, she will milk it for all it's worth, she is Audrey after all.ReplyDelete
oh no,, poor Audrey,, its not very often you hear of a cat falling and getting hurt,, they seem to recover quickly though and with your loving care I'm sure she will back to normal soon,, she is a beauty,,ReplyDelete
Uh oh! Hope everyone survives the recovery! Star is our jumper. We've collided mid air a few times! Scared me to death!ReplyDelete
Aww, sweet Audrey, I'm sorry to read of your fall, and wish you a speedy recovery and lots of TLC, which we know you'll be receiving :)ReplyDelete
Oh my, I almost cried when I read what Audrey did! Maybe this will be a lesson well learned and she'll settle down...ya think? How in the world does one keep a cat from jumping, I want to know. Give her a cuddle for me. Love from Nebr. ><>ReplyDelete
Your Audrey looks just like a kitty we used to have named Clyde-Boy! He was a Russian Blue type kitty and so beautiful. Hope Audrey is all better soon!ReplyDelete

So glad that Audrey is okay. It must have been just terrifying to have her look injured.ReplyDelete
Blessings and prayers for all as she recovers.
how scary! So glad she's ok. I've feared someday one of my cats doing something like that, probably just a matter of time. I'm not sure I know what a stair cover is, can you post a picture of that?ReplyDelete
Aww. It's heartbreaking, to me, when an animal gets any kind of injury. There is no doubt you will go above and beyond with tending to her needs ... and she'll savor every minute of it. lolReplyDelete
Oh no, poor Audrey, all the best for the poor cat, and a speedy recovery.ReplyDelete
A beautiful photo of you two
warm greetings from Tatjana
Oh! Audrey!x Audrey!x Audrey!xReplyDelete
Your lovely! Lovely! Lovely!
What a thing to have happen to dear sweet Audrey. Knowing her, she'll be back to normal soon, but not after she's gotten as much TLC (with treats, etc., & more than usual), as she can from the ordeal.ReplyDelete
I'm so glad she wasn't hurt any worse than she was. Bless your hearts.
Poor Audrey, I am sure you will care for her lovingly. One of our cats did something similar and recovered well, apart from at least a year later when she limped when I told her off. Sisters under the skin. Love Andie xxxReplyDelete
I hope the little rascal feels better.ReplyDelete
Oh this poor love....Audrey! Sweet girl...I only want to hear you are curled up on the bed or a comfy chair! Thank goodness she is ok Deb....ReplyDelete
Audrey, Audrey! No! Poor thing -- I've had more than my share of unexpected falls and yes, they're toughies. I think you'll have to keep a sharp eye out for your resident jumper -- isn't she the one who goes high, very high? I'm so sorry -- but also terribly relieved that there are no broken bones or longterm damage.ReplyDelete
Oh poor kitty girl. I bet Audrey was quite embarrassed about this although I doubt she will say so. Oh we do worry about our fur children.ReplyDelete
I left a comment! ?ReplyDelete
Sending Audrey Get Well Wishes!
Happy Pet day !
I saw your post title yesterday, but no post! I saw 'Audrey' in the title, so I was full of concern...rightly so. You will take good care of your girl; hope she heals up quickly. I recommend a kitty chiropractor when she is better; the one I had in for Chuck years ago made a HUGE difference in him after his fall; his hips were misaligned.ReplyDelete
Hi pretty lady. :) Poor Audrey, but what a great mum you are! She'll be back to jumping in no time. Hugs, NancyReplyDelete
I'm sending great caress for Audrey ♥ ♥ .ReplyDelete
Geez, what a scare that must have been, and you're probably not over it yet. I remember once when Tungsten made an easy jump and fell, I thought she'd hurt herself, then I thought it was symptomatic of some sort of disorientation. As it turned out, I was wrong on both counts, thank goodness. Cats just miss sometimes - but it doesn't stop them from scaring the crap out of us.ReplyDelete
And yes, I suspect Audrey will take full advantage of this.
ohhh my goodness, get well soon Audrey!ReplyDelete
yes am wondering what a stair cover is also?
lots of hugs & well wishes your way xxx
thanx for sharing
That must have been so scary! I bet she is running you ragged now, as only cats can.ReplyDelete
Dear little Audrey, I wish you a rapid recovery! Hope all will be good as before.ReplyDelete
Best greetings to you all four in this sweet little mousehole
I'm so sorry to hear about Audrey's injury. That must have been scary. I hope she feels better soon, though as soon as they feel better they're off and running again.ReplyDelete
Since she nursed you through the flu a while back and waited on your every need (COUGH, COUGH!) I hope you will reciprocate and attend to her every whim.
Get well soon, Audrey!
I just found your blog and I love it. We live in the country and I'm afraid to tell you how many cats we have. They are about to get their own coop.ReplyDelete
Oh my! So glad that she didn't have serious injury! She looks like she is in very good hands :) Such a sweet photo. xx KarenReplyDelete
Weird about the post so far never had that happen before .Harley has done that and hurt her paw last year she is all better know and takes it easier . Hope Audrey gets better soon and glad she didn't break any of her bones . Oh Yeah she will milk it all right lol ! Thanks for sharing , Have a good day !ReplyDelete
Love that pic of you and Audrey... it's so "oh pul-lese spare me" on her face. Hopefully her tail heals quickly and all is well again soon.ReplyDelete
How frightening and painful for our girl. She could have easily had something broken. She deserves to be babied to the max.ReplyDelete
Audrey-you little scamp. Please don't scare us like that!ReplyDelete
Glad to hear she will recover quickly.
An extra dose of patience for you as a nurse maid =)
We are glad Audrey was not seriously hurt! That last line made us smile wide...we have quite a few bells(constantly) ringing here too :)ReplyDelete
the critters in the cottage xo
Gee, I thought all cats landed on their feet but not in this case. Glad she's okay and that her tail will recover. I once ran over our cat Lucky's tail when reversing out of the drive and um, he ended up as a Manx! Not so lucky!ReplyDelete
OH how scary - poor little Audrey!! So glad she's ok!!ReplyDelete
Oh Deb, I missed this unfortunate happening. Sending get-well wishes to Audrey and all strength to you! Purrs...ReplyDelete
