A little bit of 'cat-sitting' news and a special gift

Butch Pussy (Devon Rex) Photo taken last summer.
With the help of the retired-guy, I looked after him again this weekend along with his menagerie of show-dogs.
Whew!.....
He is the most comical feline character I have ever met.
I guess when you live with 20 Pekingese dogs you either roll up in a ball or come out shoutin'.
He is a purring machine and a head-butter.
He has his nails and shows them off regularly. Not one dog messes with him.
God love him.

I received a package in the mail today. Pat from http://hookhandheart.blogspot.ca/ sent me the most beautiful table runner that looks perfect on my cupboard.
This is woven by Weaver Pat, herself. It just amazes me all the talent out there in blogland. It's wonderful.

"Thank you so much, Pat. I was so surprised and delighted to receive such a beautiful gift.
I will treasure this."
Pop on over and give Pat a visit.

I hope you are all enjoying your Christmas preparations. Shopping, wrapping, baking, writing Christmas cards, visiting friends and of course, filling our heads with the beautiful Christmas music. Did I hear a groan? Maybe you need to take a listen to Breath of Heaven by Vince Gill. Now that's a Christmas song.
I think everyone loves to find Christmas cards in their mailbox.
It may be 'a thing of the past' for many but I still love it and think it's a nice thing to buy or make some beautiful festive cards and send them off to those you cherish at Christmas time.
                                      More on cat-sittin'
I have been caring for a very scared and worried cat this weekend named Parker (Parkie). For days he has kept his distance and offered the odd hiss here and there. Ears down, eyes dilated. I just talk softly to him and no eye contact and each day I have seen some improvement. Today, while I sat on the floor offering him my hand he let me pet him on his head and then he fell over and offered me his belly. "Really? Is this a trick?"Now, I am no fool and don't fall for that instantly. I thank him but take a rain-check until the next time. His pats are kept to the head and neck area. We'll see if he is as generous with his affections tomorrow. Then I'll most-likely cave.

I'm decorating the tree today after cat-sitting. Audrey's getting pumped and won't miss a thing.
Do you think I can trust she'll behave?
hugs, Deb

  4. What a lovely gift to receive! Sorry, but I don't think you can trust Audrey with any precious ornaments. Everything is a toy to some cats!

  5. Bailey never bothered the tree, but certainly enjoyed curling up under it! I'm wondering how Rosie will be with one? My grandson will certainly be expecting to have a tree when he arrives. I can only imagine the antics of Audrey as you decorate:-D

  7. Butch Pussy sounds like such a character! Good for him for not being afraid to assert himself in a house of mainly dogs =)
I love receiving Christmas cards in the mail! Haven't receive a one yet, though.

  8. I think little Parkie fell for you both literally and figuratively. Deb, you are like nip or valerian to cats! They simply cannot resist! He's going to love you, we just know it.

  10. Butch Pussy is looking cute - especially with a cow standing on his head. (See it in the photo?! lol) And that this great progress with Parker - you have been around the block with kitties to not give into the tempting offer of his tummy! He is the one caving, I think!
That is a beautiful table runner by Weaver Pat! So kind to be thought of with such a lovely gift.
Have a great week! Audrey and a tree - makes me smile!
