Time for tea.

I've always loved my blue & white china next to lilacs.
Today we had some very special cookies bought at our little corner store.
They are called Mawner Wien Tortchen
(Finest chocolate caramel cream-filled wafers.)
These wafers are made in Austria.
They are amazingly delicious.

My tea-cup and saucer are called Silverdale and made in Hanley, England.
I keep it in my step-back cupboard along with all my other blue & white.

The background is a place-mat from a set of 4 given to me for Mother's Day by my daughter, Allie.
I love them.

I think it's time to put the tea things away before somebody turns around.

She'll think it's been set just for her.
Doesn't everything belong to the cat?

  1. Tea tastes so much better when it's served in a nice china teacup.

  2. Your blue and white is so lovely. The placemats were the perfect gift. Sweet.

  3. Love lilacs this time of year, and those cookies look delish! Such a pretty cupboard, too.

  4. Tea and special cookies taste so much better in the proper setting.

Of course, everything belongs to cats. We provide, and they thank us with their love.

  5. Your tea and cookies look delicious! I haven't seen this cookie before and it looks very yummy. The blue and white is so pretty in your cupboard!

  6. I also meant to add...yes! cats rule! :)

  7. Dearest Deb,
Lovely photos and oh, how I wish we had Lilacs here in Georgia. Enjoy them for me as well.
    Sending you hugs,

  8. I'm in love with blue and white too but will fall for any lovely English tea cup. You introduced me to mixing cups and saucers and now I always, without fail, do so. A new delight each time. I just wish they'dmake some beautiful, very generously sized cups for us tea jennies.

  9. I love wafer cookies. Guess it's time to make a trip to World Market for cookies! I do love your blue and white and envy your lilacs (can't grow them here).
    Purrrs and hugs ......

  10. In my home, everything belongs to the cat...or so he thinks!!

  11. Deb, as you know, I also love tea and pretty china. I even prefer my coffee in a cup and saucer and not a mug. Heaven forbid they try to serve me in a take-out paper cup - although I do accept that at Starbucks (but then that's not really coffee or tea... but more of a coffee based concoction.)
And of course cats believe that you do everything for them... why wouldn't they?

  12. Everything belongs to the cats, particularly the humans.

From the thumbnail, I wondered if those biscuits were stroepwafels, a Dutch treat.

  13. The cookies remind me of Stroopwaffles, which are a Dutch treat a friend introduced me to. I have Crumb Cake with my tea:-D

  14. ummm, looks delicious. And all your blues look so pretty. Since we moved, most of my blue and white dishes are still packed as I am uncertain where I will put room for a hutch in the dining.....I'll enjoy yours until I find the right spot.

  15. Your blue and white china is very pretty with the lilacs. I am really looking forward to our lilacs blooming.
    Enjoy your Victoria Day!

  16. I've never meet blue transfewear that I didn't like! I especially love your blue and white teapot with the little feet!

    Happy Victoria Day!

  17. Happy Victoria Day, Deb! I do love your blue and white all set up in your cabinet; looks so pretty! Lilacs look especially lovely with transferware, I think. Both are very charming and lend an old-fashioned feel which I adore. It will be June before our lilacs come. They may even be a little later this year because it had been so cold but we will enjoy them when they do. I am so happy you have joined me for tea today! Have a wonderful week and give those kitties of yours a cuddle for me.

  18. What delightful blue transferware you have. Thanks for letting us know what those wafer cookies are. I am always looking for new packaged cookies to try. It is good to have some on hand for impromptu tea parties. Your Silverdale tea cup is so lovely, that I simply had to pin it to my Tea Cup Tuesday Pinterest Board, linking directly to your blog post. It was is so nice sharing Tea Cup Tuesday with you. My blog is stop by for tea cup fun, and say "hi".

  19. Greetings Deb... White and blue always look so refreshing together... love your sweet collection... What an adventure you will have ..Be sure to keep a teatime journal while waiting for your house to be built... Good Luck.... Hugs

  20. Love the beautiful blues! Have a great week. Blessings, Martha

  21. I love your collection of blue transferware and especially the hutch you put it in. I adore shabby chic and my husband has painted many of our pieces. Your display is wonderful and especially the cup and saucer.
