'A Favorite Thing'.

You know me...the Christmas decorations are coming out, little by little. Can't wait until December like many do. I want six weeks of Christmas.
The cats have noticed something different going on.

"Oh, good grief, Audrey."
.
                                           "What the heck is this?"
Kitties are enjoying all the sparkly additions to the dining-room. I know a few things that will have to be placed up high when I am gone from the house. Someone wants to eat them.

I had a great visit with my 'country cats'  today and I had one little lone kitty in our town, too. Got home just in time to grab lunch and then head out with Kane for a good long walk.

A Favorite Thing...

While out walking Kane one day, I came across this little shelf next to someone's garbage can. It was painted black and looked like it needed a new home before it ended up in the landfill. So, I brought it home, cleaned it up and painted it white and now it hangs on my kitchen wall. It is one of my favorite little shelves and today I dressed it up with some blue and white.

I'm joining http://mockingbirdhillcottage.com/ for A Favorite Thing.

hugs, Deb

  1. What a great "rescue" with that shelf. My old cat used to rub his face on the lower Christmas tree branches!

  2. Great find! I love all the blue cups. I have a favorite cabinet filled with only blue dishes! Makes me smile each time I look at it.

  3. Your walk with Kane was very successful -- in more ways than one. Christmas is going to be an adventure here with the Princess Mina! Should be fun! She and Audrey would make an exciting pair! Hugs--

  4. I cannot thank you enough for sharing the tea cups and china...I just LOVE them! I so enjoy seeing everyone's Christmas collectibles....isn't it funny how much cats enjoy the soft twinkling lights and the tree...so beautiful Deb!

  5. Your shelf is adorable painted white with your blue/white china--what a find! I listen to the radio all day (don't care for television) and yesterday, at 2:00 p.m., they began playing Christmas music. At first, I was a little panicky thinking I'm so far behind, until I realized what a serene feeling I was getting listening to it. Christmas, for me, will always be the memories at my mom's and with my family, XOXO

  8. Our cat loves to swat the ornaments on the tree so I have to make sure they aren't hanging too low or she'll be having a field day with them. That little shelf was a great find. Love the blue and white china. Have a great day. Tammy

  10. Oh my stars Deb! I almost bought that same little bird today! Haha! Isn't it a cute one? I like to buy myself a new Christmas bird every year. All my sparkles and tree is up. So far, Banjo has been a good boy. Keeping my fingers crossed. LOL!
