Lunch out in fashion & a recipe

I wasn't surprised when a request for the Cinnamon Loaf Cake recipe was included in a comment yesterday. Trish from
is in the mood to bake.
As requested, Trish...
You will need
1/4 cup butter
1 cup white sugar
2 eggs
2 cups flour
1 cup sour milk  (add 1/2 tsp of vinegar to milk and let stand 2 minutes)
1/4 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/4 tsp. vanilla

Mix 1 tsp. cinnamon and 3 Tbsp. brown sugar (set aside)

Mix the dry in one bowl
Mix the wet in another
Add dry to wet and mix

Put 1/2 of cake ingredients in pan then a layer of cinnamon and brown sugar.
Add the other half of ingredients and another layer of cinnamon and sugar on top.
Bake 1 hr. at 350 degrees.

I'll bet she has a lot of feline helpers in her kitchen. Trish is owned by 13 fabulous felines and if you have not popped over to meet them and see their amazing digs then you should get on over there right now.

I had lunch out today with a gal that can really sport a hat.

Not everyone can wear a hat but Gwyn's suggestion is to go light on jewellery and flash a beautiful smile. It helps if you have bambi eyes, too.
Works every time.

and now a Bird Tip for the day...

If you're wondering what to do with those old boots hanging around the closet this might be a suggestion.
I know if there is a Chickadee in your area, she would love these digs.

I'm now off to meet two new kitty-clients. You know I'll show them off soon.
Have a great day!

hugs, Deb =^..^=

  1. Gwyn's photo in this post is just absolutely darling! Everything else in the post just faded into the background when I saw that adorable smile and that cute hat! :-)

  2. OMG!!!
    Cuter everytime I see her!
Think we might see Miss V tomorrow...fingers crossed...
    She is adorable Deb...
Good idea for the old boot!

  3. Oh, Miss Gwyn captured my heart.....she wins the prize!

  4. Gwyn's smile is affectionate!

I would have never thought of using an old boot like that.

  5. OMG Deb, that baby is adorable. All of your grandchildren are little cuties.

  6. Hi Deb! Oh, my goodness! That little Gwyn is simply adorable and so chic! :)
    Be a sweetie,Shelia ;)

  7. Yum, thanks and boy, that Gwyn is one adorable little girl! Love that photo!

  8. My husband has made about 30 of your loaf cakes since you posted the recipe sometime last year. That might be where my extra 30 pounds have come from. Delicious!

    1. So happy to hear that you enjoy it. It's one of my all-time favorite.

  9. yum to the cinnamon!

and that sweet little baby stole the show!!!

  10. Gwyn is totally adorable! Love the boot nest box, too. I saw a chickadee gathering fur I'd brushed from Tristan the other day. That will make a nice soft nest. :)

  11. Nice hat AND model! Sweet.

Thank you, and guess what I'm baking soon!

  12. Brilliant idea with the boot....
I plant lobelia in my old trainers and
hang them on the wall and fence.....!

And, goodness! That certainly is a prize
    winning photo! Lovely!

  13. Perfect sweetheart! And oh, those Bambi eyes!

  14. That pic of Gwyn is precious! And the boot/birdhouse idea is pretty cute too.

  15. What a lovely lunch companion! So cute!

  16. Such a beautiful little miss this sweet Gwyn - she will be a heartbreaker for certain with those gorgeous eyes! I love hats too - she might be a fashion icon in the future.

    Hugs - Mary
