The tea cupboard

I have found a new purpose for my little french country cupboard. It is so small that it really cannot hold very much china so it has now become 'the tea cupboard'. This little cupboard has held many things in the last two years and it has been fun to display different dishes and tea-cups. I think one of my favorite displays was when I filled it with my Spring tea-cups.

I have since given away most of these tea-cups.

It has also held children's dishes for little Riley.

But now that the step-back cupboard has taken over it has a new purpose.
I like to be able to see the varieties of tea that I have to choose from when I want something different and up 'til now the boxes of tea were in a kitchen cupboard and hard to see. Now, I can pick and choose without boxes of tea falling on my head.

AND ... you can drop on over and go straight to the cupboard and I will brew you up a cup.
Perhaps you would like a fresh out-of-the-oven pumpkin muffin with that?
I just baked a big batch this morning. I think these are so good year-round.

                                     The Tea Cupboard

The doors are always open.

We can always start with tea.

"What is it Audrey?"
"Do you like the tea-cupboard, Audrey?"

"Why not?"

"I don't see any cat-nip tea in there."

"That's because when you have nip, Audrey,  you go all bonkers.

                                                                "I'll bonkers her one."

  1. I love cupboard ...I wish I had one to decorate....I think making it a tea cupboard is a fun and unique idea. Audrey is a beautiful cat......with the purrfect cat personality :)

  2. The cupboard is exquisite and makes me yearn for my tea cups to be unpacked!

  3. Audrey, never change. You're just too adorable the way you are.

Tea and pumpkin muffins sound just right!

  4. I love your tea cupboard. It is displayed so pretty. I love the saying too.
    Blessings, Catherine

  5. I really like the tea cupboard! How lovely to see all the choices in one pretty space. Oh Audrey!

  6. Beautiful teacups!
That Audrey is such a character! She makes me laugh.

  7. So much fun re-arranging the things you love...
    Looks very inviting, Deb!
No rain this am.....up at 6 with Miss V!
Hopefully off to the cottage later!
    Enjoy your weekend my friend....
    Linda :o)

  8. Beautiful tea cupboard. My Girls are all good with catnip. I grow it and they have it fresh. I also sundry it and jar it for Winter. Some of my past cats were mean when they had it, so I know what you mean!

  9. By the way, if you're up this weekend (last weekend of the festival), one of those tulip sculptures at Dow's Lake has cats painted on it.

  10. Now you can start collecting unique tea caddies!
Poor Audrey! Maybe we'll find a tea for you.

  11. oh, P.S.
I can't wait to see beautiful Gwyn enjoying keeping HER special tea things in the little French cabinet.

  12. That little cupboard has gone through many changes and each one is charming. I love the re-arrange my collections in different areas of the house as well. But the tea cupboard is perfect, making it so easy to find your flavor of the day . Besides, tea boxes and tea implements are always so pretty!

  13. A cup of tea does indeed help many many things!

  14. Love your tea cupboard! My favourite saying is "While there is tea, there is hope." Put the kettle on!
