Making my lists

6am came too quick this morning after reading into the night last night. 6am is when Audrey jumps up on to my dresser and yowls for me to open my eyes. She paces and pats things and elevates herself onto my wooden bracelet box. She paces more and starts to make a grunting noise. She is determined to annoy me to no end so I get up and serve her. Don't bother commenting with "why don't you put her out at night and shut the bedroom door?" I tried that and she darn near tore the door down. 7 lbs of dynamite, she is.

The kitchen comes to life with 6 felines pacing and greeting me with anticipation of another wonderful meal.

They think I am the best cook ever.
After feeding the lions I grabbed a coffee (yes, Trish from Katnip Lounge, I gave in and feed them before my coffee now) and started my morning list. No, not groceries but kitty-clients. This is when I make the plans for who I go to first and so on. Who is the neediest, the one who finds the nights long.Lately, it is always Toady who I rush to see after his long night  home-alone. He is old, he is spoiled, he is fragile.
He has his favorite toy
and he's a handsome boy.
We sat and watched the wildlife on the deck after breakfast.
We are never disappointed.

Many kitties in between  and then I end with my cat-less house where I check on plants. I don't expect much to be going on there and I miss having a kitty meet me at their door all chatty with tail at a salute. Nope, just boring old plants.

I have 2 lists this morning as I have many errands to run and cooking to do. And gold, yellow and apricot Mums to buy. Those are my colours and I'm stickin' to it.

With that, I bid you adieu.

hugs, Deb

    1. You got that right. I couldn't stand listening to Audrey.

  2. Love the greetings from your furry clients--such a welcome sight. I planted some mums on Sunday; I have yielded that autumn is on it's way:-) XOXO

  3. I poke my mommie in the eye when I wan´t her to wake her up , that alway´s work too :)

  4. Oh yes the making noise and stomping on you wakes me up also. Emily use to throw herself at the door if I shut her out...I could not win. Toady is so sweet! Hugs, Linda

  5. Thanks for the photo feast of furry friends. Your blog is such a delight! Hope your day goes well. That Toady is a sweetheart. Becky

  6. Ms. Audrey, It's nice to meet you. My name is Clyde. I have grey plushie furrs also. I live with 5 other cats with That Woman. I am following your advice and will make her feed ME (us) before she gets her coffees; and if she tries to lock ME (us) out? Well the Bengal, Miss Jenga actually can open doors so we don'tz have a problem there. I think you are very cute. I wish we lived closer so I could come play with you.

    hearts & paws

  7. The morning greeting routine sounds familiar. If Mom and Dad don't bound out of bed to serve breakfast at the first poke of a paw, push things off the dresser--or--last resort--threaten to barf on the bedside rug!

    1. Love it. It happens here, too. They have us where they want us.

  8. I love these photos. Number 3 with the peekaboo shot is my favourite! And I have finally put some cats up on my blog for you! :)

  9. I don't know how you can bear leaving Toady for the evening. I can just imagine him curled into my arms , purring softly. What a heavenly night and a beautiful, gentle morning to wake up to those luminous eyes and soft purr.
My mum always was fully groomed before she would leave her bedroom suite. Shower, full makeup and every hair in place and her cat, Sparky, brushed to where every hair glistened in the morning
sun. She always kept treats at her bedside for him. The things that we remember!
