I don't do well when the house is upside down, even one room, so I am glad to have the room back in order again.
First things first, change up the cupboard and give it a new look for awhile.
I love blue and white china as much as I love white ironstone so I gathered up all the blue and white to fill the step-back cupboard. As you can see I don't have a lot but I am still on the hunt to add to this collection. Yes, I have been purging household items but that doesn't mean I can tame my dishaholic...ism.
Did you know that Paul McCartney's first wife, Linda collected blue and white china? I think she had a love of yellow, also. She was a vegetarian and I have one of her cookbooks from many years ago. The cover tells you a lot of her love for blue and white dishes. I love looking at each piece so lovingly placed on her huge wooden cupboard. I find it so homey, so inviting.
Here is a cookie that goes great with tea in any colour of cup.
I hope you can read my writing. If not, let me know and I will type it out for you.
Lily is soaking up the sun this morning in the yard. Hope you are having a great day, too.

Good Morning Deb, We are kindred spirits because I love blue and white as well. Your blue Delft mug is lovely.
ReplyDeleteI am not a vegetarian but I have a Linda McCartney cookery book as well and I use the recipes over and over again.
Lilly has the right idea, sitting in the sunshine and relaxing.... such a lovely way to spend Sunday.
Enjoy your Sunday.
Best Wishes
Daphne

Your cupboard looks great Deb! I see you have a thing for blue and white china as well. At home blue and white are the colours for me too. In the garden it's pastels and colours. Your collection looks beautiful! I enjoyed having a peek :-)

Beautiful transferware and ironstone! I only have two blue pieces; one teacup and saucer, and a plate I just found on Friday! My other transferware is brown and green... I love your blue collection!
ReplyDeleteWe've had a rainy weekend, so we are jealous of the sunshine.
ReplyDeleteSweet Lily!
ReplyDeleteI love your blue and white dishes. So many pretty pieces. And they truly are so homey and comforting. I especially like the teapot on the right on the bottom shelf. Such a pretty shape!
Thank you for sharing your pretty dishes!
Just spent some time catching up on your posts. I have been MIA in the blog world lately due to serious illness of my husband. But am trying to get back in touch with all my favorite blogs, slowly but surely.
ReplyDeleteBlue and white, of course are my favorite collectibles of all. I would love a step-back cupboard like yours. How delightful to have a place like that to "play" with!
Very moved by your post about Cali. Such a sweet dear kitty.
Always a pleasure to read about your cat clients, those tuxes are amazing!! Looking forward to hearing more about your house building plans~!

Lily looks very warm and content there.
ReplyDeleteYour blue and white china is gorgeous. I am so envious of that lovely Delft tea cup.
I had a Linda McCartney cook book, I cooked loads of her recipes. I might have a look around our local charity shops to see if I can find it again.

ReplyDeleteI love blue & white dishes, it is hard for me to resist them in thrift and antique shops. I like your idea of changing your cupboard every so often. Your cupboard always looks just right, no matter how you change it up!( of course anyone preferring blue & white dishes shows very good taste, don't you think?)
ReplyDeleteI find that very interesting about Linda McCartney... and did not know she had a cookbook out. Look at all the good things I learn from reading blogs. :)
Beautiful blue and white collection!...Christine
ReplyDeleteBeautiful. I love blue and white china. It's so refreshing.

Hello Deb,
ReplyDeleteI didn't know Linda collected blue and white china but it is lovely. Yours is too, by the way! You have some beautiful pieces. Those cookies look delish and thanks for sharing the recipe. Lily is adorable curled up in the sun. We have had outstanding temps the past two days and you can really see the green coming out on the trees and scrubbery. I LOVE this time of year. Thank you for sharing and coming to tea.
Blessings,
Sandi
Love that cupboard full of blue and white! Great recipe you are sharing! So glad you linked to Friends Sharing Tea!
ReplyDeleteHi Deb, this tea cup Tuesday just isn't fair because I'm on a diet and this is the third fantastic recipe I've come across! Oh well, have to copy it down and save it for after the last 10lbs. :) Love the blue and white display. My daughter collects blue and white but no sets of anything. She loves her mix and match collection. I think I'll send her the link to your post so she can see your lovely display. Have a lovely week.
ReplyDeleteI love blue and white dishes. Your china on display is just beautiful. So pretty!
