Otis & playing with dishes

I was cat-sitting Otis, Lola and Rosie this weekend. While preparing the dinner for this 'three cat family', I turned to find Otis hoping for a treat to venture his way.  He is a big help in the kitchen, always right where I need him. He's like an assistant.

"Just throw it my way, Deb"

Do you have snow in your neck of the woods? We have not seen any yet. It's not stopping me from Christmas shopping though.
I'm starting to look over my dishes and plan for the ones I will use at the table.
I know for sure I will use all my covered white bowls. They are a must for serving things hot.

This covered dish comes from England. This was passed down from my mother-in-law.
I like mixing old and new dishes.

I'm secretly hoping to get more white dishes from Santa. I'll fit them in, don't you doubt.

By Christmas, my youngest daughter, Allie will be back from South America. She's excited about coming home during the Christmas festivities. Her latest post said:
Just arrived in Punta Arenas. It's in the Patagonia. We were in Argentina for a day on the bus but we r back in Chile. U kind of go back and forth when u get to this part, i dunno it's kind of confusing.

She's still having fun and not too home-sick yet.

If you are a cat-sitter, please read my previous post. Thanks.
Hugs, Deb

  3. Hi Deb,
Your blog is adorable! I'm big on cats too but my husband could do without. That said he is very good to the two we have. His most constant companion seems to be our pug.

Thank you for stopping by my blog! I think being a cat sitter would be a wonderful job. At least for me anyway.

  6. Is that Otis a cutie pie or what!!! Kisses and hugs for him!
When things are too matchie matchie, it looks like one has inherited the state china of some now defunct country or raided Sears. Mixing china gives the table a much more personal look. (You've got me using mismatched teacups and saucers everyday and I love it!)
While Allie will be sorry to see the end of her grand adventure, we bet she'll be happy as anything to have one of her mum's Christmas dinners.
